Supporting Your Health, Independence and Mobility

At LifeLift, we’re committed to helping people living with a disability move with confidence, improve independence, and live with dignity.

Our multidisciplinary allied health team is person-centred, friendly, caring and professional – and our physiotherapists embody these attributes as they help NDIS participants reduce pain, restore movement, and enhance quality of life through tailored physiotherapy services.

We are registered NDIS providers, and our physiotherapy services can be delivered in the comfort of your home or workplace or via telehealth, making them flexible, accessible, and effective.

Why is Physiotherapy Important?

Physiotherapy is a gentle therapy focused on outcomes such as:

  • Reducing pain and discomfort
  • Managing disability
  • Managing pain
  • Improving body function / range of motion
  • Boosting physical strength
  • Rehabilitation after illness, surgery, or injury
  • Preventing injuries / falls
  • Enhancing independent living
  • Health education
  • Recommending and prescribing assistive technology and equipment prescribing

The aim of physiotherapy is to support NDIS participants to manage or rehabilitate their condition so they can stay fully engaged in a range of life activities and improve their overall well-being.

At its core, it’s about helping people feel healthier, more mobile, and more independent. This approach helps them to be more active, manage their everyday tasks more easily, and work toward goals that enhance physical function.

Who Benefits from Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy (often referred to simply as ‘physio’) can be used to help people with a range of disabilities, such as:

  • physical disabilities
  • neurological conditions (ie. multiple sclerosis (MS), stroke, Parkinson’s disease and cerebral palsy)
  • intellectual disabilities
  • mental health disorders
  • type 2 diabetes, obesity, osteoarthritis

Funding for physiotherapy services falls under NDIS Capacity Building budgets and is part of the Improved Daily Living category. This funding supports tailored physiotherapy services designed to enhance mobility, manage pain, and improve overall quality of life for NDIS participants. Accessing these services typically involves an initial assessment to identify individual needs and develop personalised treatment plans that align with personal goals and everyday challenges.

What will my physiotherapist do?

LifeLift physios usually begin by carrying out a structured mobility assessment. This allows them to correctly gauge how impaired your movement or function might be and consider the best strategies for improving your mobility, functioning, balance and managing any pain you may be experiencing.

A treatment plan is not limited to, but may include:

  • Manual therapies such as massage
  • At-home exercise programs
  • Postural care
  • Health education
  • Hydrotherapy and aquatic therapy
  • Ultrasound /laser therapy
  • Joint manipulation/mobilisation techniques
  • Breathing exercises
  • Acupuncture/dry needling
  • Clinical pilates
  • The use of mobility / assistive aids such as crutches, wheelchairs, handrails;

Your individual treatment plan will be based on your specific situation and needs.

LifeLift’s mobile physiotherapists are wonderful champions, supporting NDIS participants to implement and follow the programs designed for them.

Our phyzios also work with other health professionals and organisations (such as schools, employers, insurers etc), as required, to support a participants’ wellbeing.

A key part of a physiotherapist’s role is to chart a client’s progress in order to demonstrate the positive results the therapy is delivering.
